Glow up with me! Stage One - Planning for a better 2025

Well, 2024 was an absolute shit show, wasn't it?

The economy has tanked, everyone is exhausted and people seem to be meaner than ever.

But I'm unwilling to have another year that feels like this one so I'm doing the only think I know how to do...

PLAN!

Now you can work on this at ANY TIME. Doesn't have to be the start of a new year or month. I'm starting this on the 28th November, so take this as a sign to do this work at any time of the year.

The Goals

Before I got going, I worked through the Reflect and Reset Journal (you can get your free copy on my website) to ensure I was clear about what I wanted to achieve.

I have three main areas - Health, Biz and Joy (on a budget) - and to ensure I'm focused, I'm going to ensure I'm clear about the aim.

If you're used to corporate goal setting, these might be your "objectives".

I'm also going to list some "do goals", which are tasks or activities to complete that I'm hoping help achieve the objectives.

Let's just dive right in to the three areas.

Health

For health, I just want to feel well.

This year, I feel like both my physical and mental health have suffered. Everything I've researched says they're both connected, so I'm going to start by focusing on my physical health.

Here are the things I will be trying to do on the daily:

  • Drink 32oz water (which is one large water bottle)
  • Intentionally move my body for 15 minutes or more
  • Take my meds

These will be tracked in my habit tracker.

Biz

The goal of the biz is for it to pay me actual money and not just in free stationery (although I do love the stationery) so I want to grow it, essentially.

Journal Junkies went through a shift this year - it moved from a warehouse to a porta-cabin in my back yard, I sold off all the "branded" notebooks in a massive sale and started a brand new line of planners with build-your-own inserts.

But, as my husband keeps reminding me, it's not enough to just keep making products. I need to be smart about how I use my time.

So, here are the focus areas for Journal Junkies:

  • Create content regularly (content calendar?)
  • Refine the brand
  • Try to expand into stores

I still don't have a good plan for these so if you have ideas, hit me up!

Joy (on a budget)

I just want to feel more joy in my life.

Since I was a child, I've always been hyper-aware of the seemingly pointless nature of life. We're born, we do some stuff, we die, we are forgotten about.

So I've always believed that the only purpose that made sense to me was to enjoy it as much as possible. To me, joy is a feeling of contentedness, of not wanting to change a thing.

In that vain, these are the things that bring me joy:

  • A calm and tidy home
  • Quality time (no spending money)
  • Creativity / Tactile hobbies

These, again, will be tracked in my habit tracker.

How I'm finding accountability

Not only will I be tracking these in my habit tracker, I'll be doing daily reports on Tik Tok and monthly reports on YouTube.
